About Capability House
Capability House is an independent editorial digest that follows the people, companies and technologies shaping the global AI and semiconductor industry.
Capability House exists for a simple reason: the semiconductor industry has quietly become the foundation of the modern economy, yet the story is told in fragments. A market figure appears in one report, a packaging investment in another, a talent shortage somewhere else. Our job is to connect those fragments into a clear, readable picture that serves professionals, students, policymakers and curious readers alike.
What we do
We publish a recurring digest of ten special reports, each covering a distinct layer of the AI and semiconductor value chain. Every issue is written in plain, accessible English so that a technician in a cleanroom, a financial analyst, a student choosing a career path and a general reader can all follow the same analysis without a technical dictionary.
Our coverage is deliberately broad because the industry is broad. A single AI chip involves design houses, foundries, packaging specialists, memory makers, equipment vendors, data-center operators, software integrators and security teams. We treat each of these as part of one connected system rather than isolated news beats.
Our mission
- Clarity over hype. We explain what a headline actually means for businesses, workers and households — not just that a number went up.
- Context over volume. We would rather publish ten well-sourced reports than a thousand unverified ones.
- Access over jargon. Technical accuracy should never require an engineering degree to understand.
- Independence over influence. Our editorial judgments are not for sale.
What we cover
Each issue of the digest is organized around ten recurring pillars. Together they describe the full arc of the industry, from raw market data to the devices people use every day.
- Global chip market growth and demand trends.
- Advanced packaging and chiplet integration.
- AI data centers and compute infrastructure.
- High-bandwidth memory and storage technology.
- Wafer manufacturing and fab capacity expansion.
- European and regional manufacturing investment.
- System integration (SI) and enterprise digitalization.
- Talent, training and employment.
- Chip and digital infrastructure security.
- Everyday technology applications for consumers and families.
Our editorial approach
Every figure we publish is attributed to a named, traceable source — industry associations, market research firms, company announcements, wire services and peer-reviewed publications. When we report a number, we tell you where it came from and when it was published. When a claim is uncertain, we say so.
We distinguish clearly between three kinds of content:
- Reported facts — attributed to a primary or reputable secondary source.
- Analysis — our interpretation of what the facts imply for different groups.
- Illustration — photography and examples used for context, which may not depict the exact company or location named in the text.
We believe an informed reader is a better decision-maker. Our aim is not to predict the future, but to make the present legible.
Methodology and sources
Our reports draw on a range of public sources, including industry bodies such as the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) and SEMI, company newsrooms, and international wire services. Where we quote a specific publication or organization, we name it in the body of the report.
Because the industry moves quickly, some figures in a given issue will be revised by their original publishers over time. We recommend that readers who rely on a specific number for a decision consult the cited primary source directly.
Who we write for
Industry professionals
Engineers, supply-chain managers and product teams who need a quick, reliable view of the wider market.
Investors and analysts
Readers tracking capital flows, capacity expansion and demand signals across the value chain.
Students and educators
People exploring careers and curricula in a field that needs far more skilled talent than it currently has.
General readers
Anyone curious about the chips inside their phone, car, hospital equipment and cloud services.
Editorial independence
Capability House maintains a strict separation between editorial and any commercial activity. No company can pay for coverage, and no advertiser is given advance sight of a report. Corrections are published promptly and transparently. When we make a mistake, we say so at the top of the relevant page.
Our team
The digest is produced by a small, distributed editorial team spanning the Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America. Responsibilities include reporting, sourcing and verification, technical review, copy-editing and production.
